Mentoring Program

The mentoring program provides international students with the necessary information and
support for academic, cultural, and social adaptation.

  • Enhancing Academic Skills : Providing information on major subjects and curriculum to help improve academic performance
  • Supporting Adaptation to Korean Culture : Offering resources to help student understand Korean society, culture, language, and daily life.
  • Building Networks : Facilitating opportunities for exchange among students, foestering friendships, and creating mentor networks.
  • Promoting Emotional Stability : Helping students overcome challenges related to adapting to a new environment by providing emotional support and guidance.




Roles and Responsibilities of Mentors and Mentees

Mentors play a key role in supporting international students' successful academic life,
while mentees are expected to actively utilize the guidance and support provided by mentors and make efforts to adapt.

Roles of Mentors

  • Providing information related to majors, curriculum, and adapting to the school environment
  • Supporting the improvement of Korean language proficiency
  • Assisting in understanding Korean culture and society
  • Offering emotional support and guidance

Roles of Mentees

  • Actively utilizing the guidance and advice of mentors
  • Proactively communicating about difficulties related to academics and adaptation
  • Actively participating in mentoring activities
  • Building trust and relationships with mentors




Mentoring Program Operation Process

The mentoring program matches mentors and mentees before the semester begins
and supports the successful academic life of international students through regular mentoring activities.

Step 1: Mentoring Application and Selection

Recruitment of mentors and mentees
Submission & Review of applications Final matching
(Conducted 1 month before the semester starts)

Step 2: Orientation and Start of Mentoring

Introduction to the program
Guidance on mentors’ and mentees' roles and schedules
Start of mentoring activities

Step 3: Regular Mentoring Activities

Conducted at least once a week
A total of 10 sessions or more

Step 4: Completion and Evaluation

Completion of mentoring activities
Final feedback survey
Selection & Awards for outstanding mentors and mentees



Mentoring Activity Guidelines

Mentors and mentees must follow the mentoring guidelines to ensure effective mentoring.

  • Regular Meetings : Conduct mentoring activities weekly or biweekly. Decide mentoring times and locations in advance.
  • Active Communication : Mentors and mentees should freely share necessary information and communicate openly.
  • Building Trustful Relationships : Build constructive and sincere relationships based on mutual understanding and respect.
  • Record Mentoring Activities : Document the contents and outcomes of mentoring activities. Submit activity reports.




Application and Selection Process
for the Mentoring Program

Students who wish to participate in the mentoring program must submit an application
through the official website or e-class and go through the selection process.

  1. Application Period and Process : After submitting the application form via Google Forms, the matching process will be conducted on e-class
  2. Selection Criteria : Based on program participation intent, mentoring capabilities, and academic performance of international students
  3. Announcement of Selection Results : Selected participants and matching results will be notified individually




Management and Operation of the Mentoring Program

To efficiently manage and operate the mentoring program, the center undertakes various efforts:

  • Regular Monitoring of Mentoring Activities : Assessing the satisfaction levels of mentors and mentees, and evaluating program effectiveness.
  • Improvement of the Mentoring Program : Enhancing the program’s operation methods and content to increase participant satisfaction.
  • Support for Mentors and Mentees : Providing assistance and necessary information to address challenges related to mentoring activities.
  • Awards for Outstanding Mentors and Mentees : Recognizing active participation and excellence in mentoring activities and sharing best practices.
